Foreword
And this is quite a book. Wisely, it's not about golf as such. There are plenty of books like that. Rather, it's about the beauty of the courses on which the game is played. It takes the form of a showcase of twelve clubs scattered around Lake Geneva, and their story from 1900 to today.
Captured by both sporting and amateur photographers, it's a celebration of how the course designers and landscape artists have framed the settings at their disposal with such panache, supported by visionary architects who tastefully converted historic castles into club-houses and/or designed modern new ones.

About Léman Golfique
BTL — Beyond The Lens Sàrl is delighted to announce its latest publication, Léman Golfique, a magnificent new 112-page coffee-table book, richly illustrated with superb photographs and tracing the history of twelve of the most beautiful golf courses in the Lake Geneva region.
Ultimately, this book is not about golf as a sport — there are already numerous books devoted to that subject — but rather celebrates the exceptional beauty of the landscapes in which the game is played. It offers a true showcase of the twelve clubs around Lake Geneva and recounts their history, from 1900 to the present day.
Taken by both professional and amateur photographers, the images pay tribute to the way in which course architects and landscape designers have framed the most remarkable natural settings and enhanced their stunning backdrops. They also bear witness to the work of visionary architects who have tastefully transformed historic castles into clubhouses, or designed new, resolutely contemporary buildings.
It is the ideal keepsake for golfers who have had the good fortune to play one or more of these twelve courses, a magnificent gift for anyone who appreciates natural landscapes, and perfectly suited as an elegant, original corporate gift representative of the Lake Geneva region.

The man behind the book
Sándor “Sab” Szabados
Sándor “Sab” Szabados, born in Australia, has lived on the shores of Lake Geneva since 1981. A passionate photographer and golfer, he has played all 12 courses featured in this book, as well as more than 200 other courses across 28 countries.
He created this souvenir book as a tribute to the exceptional beauty of the golfing landscapes of the Lake Geneva region. Each club enthusiastically agreed to participate, generously sharing its photographic archives and historical texts without seeking any financial compensation. Their sole motivation was to contribute to showcasing the breath-taking beauty of this remarkable region — a place we are truly fortunate to call home.
